Under the scheme, it has been decided by the Government of Uttar Pradesh to provide electricity subsidy to handloom weavers like powerloom weavers from the financial year 2015-16. Under the scheme, weavers are given exemption in electricity bills at the rate of INR 328 per month and INR 3936 per annum. A budget provision of INR 500.00 lakh has been made in the financial year 2020-21. whose expenditure is being processed. For reimbursement of exemption in electricity rates to 12703 handloom weavers in the financial year 2021-22, per handloom weaver electricity connection INR Budget will be required. Therefore, in the financial year 2021-22, a budget of INR 500.00 lakh (Rupees five crore only) is proposed under the scheme to compensate handloom weavers for rebate in electricity rate.
